Life casting is the process of creating a three-dimensional copy of a living body, through the use of molding and casting techniques.  Life casting can also be practiced on living animals.

Life casting allows creation of exact portraits and body reproduction, where it is used in the creation of special effects makeup, prosthetics, props, art, and in the medical field.

The most common life casts are of torso, pregnant bellies, hands, faces and full head with shoulders. Life casting is usually limited to a section of the body at a time, but full-body life casts are available as well. The standout feature of life casts is their high level of realism and detail. Life casts can replicate details as small as fingerprints and pores.

A variety of materials such as medical silicones and dental grade alginates are common place to us. The overall casting pose, size, and amount of detail of the part will determine technique and cost.
